Marshall County Commissioner President Stan Klotz is sounding the alarm about the state of healthcare in Marshall County — and his fellow commissioners are backing him up.
During Monday's County Commissioner meeting, Klotz raised concerns he said are shared widely throughout the community. "It's no secret, along with many other people, I'm not very happy or confident on the health care we have in this county," Klotz said. "It's been lacking. Services are being pulled." He added that many elderly residents in the county are frightened by the direction healthcare services are heading.
Klotz asked fellow Commissioners Adam Faulstich and Jesse Bohannon for their support in allowing him to gather information and explore what options might be available to improve healthcare access in Marshall County. He was candid about the timeline, acknowledging that any meaningful solution would not come quickly. "It's not going to happen overnight, and it may take some incentivizing," Klotz said, estimating that a fix could take a couple of years to put in place.
Commissioner Faulstich voiced his support immediately, saying he was "on board with it." The board then unanimously approved Klotz's request to ask questions, gather information, and explore possibilities for upgrading healthcare services in Marshall County.
Klotz will report his findings back to the full commission as the process moves forward.
