Marshall County property tax statements should be arriving in the mail in the next few days.
Marshall County Treasurer, Sandra Dodson, reminds taxpayers that the Spring due date is May 12, 2025, and the Fall due date will be November 10.
Both spring and fall coupons will be included in the mailing that taxpayers receive. Please include the correct coupon(s) with your payment, whether in person or by mail.
The State of Indiana has mandated that each county use a uniform tax statement. The updated property tax statement format has caused concerns with Marshall County Taxpayers. Anyone who has a lender-paid tax bill will see a watermark on the front page of their statement that reads “FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSE ONLY”. Taxpayers are urged to contact their lender to ensure that their tax liability will be paid. There is a delay from the mail date to the time we receive the file with the tax information to be able to upload it to our Beacon system. Once received, they will be added to our county website. Taxpayers may visit www.co.marshall.in.us, click the County Building tab on the home page, drop down to (GIS) Beacon, and search by name or address to print or view your tax bill as well as the TS 1 (breakdown of the tax amount).
The Marshall County Building is open to the public, and we accept payments in our office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Payments are also accepted through the regular United States Post Office via check, money order, or cashier’s check. Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before May 12th for the spring due date and November 10th for the fall due date. Echecks, credit, or debit cards may be used online at www.co.marshall.in.us and click on Property Taxes ($), then Pay Taxes Online (convenience fees may apply). Please include tax billing coupon(s) to ensure the payment will be applied specifically to the correct parcel(s). Include a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like a return receipt.
For the public’s convenience, the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office has installed drop boxes at both the north and south entrances of the Marshall County Building. These boxes are located between the doors, in the vestibule. The locked boxes will be checked multiple times daily. Additionally, there is an existing drop box on the outside of the south side of the building, near the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Payments put in the drop box after 4:00 p.m., May 12, and 4:00 p.m., November 10, will be considered late. Penalties will be applied.
Tax payments can be made at all Everwise locations, First Merchant Bank in Bourbon, First Farmers Bank and Trust in Culver, and the Town of Bremen Clerk-Treasurer’s office, two weeks before the due dates.
Spring begins Monday, April 28; Fall begins Monday, October 27. These are drop-off locations only, so you will need to have your tax coupon to pay at one of these locations.
Taxpayers are welcome to call us at 574-935-8520 with any questions or concerns.
