A 31-year-old Plymouth man is facing multiple felony charges after Marshall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on Tuesday evening on State Road 17.
Marshall County Central Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 20 from a juvenile inside a residence in the 6,000 block of State Road 17. The child reported that his father was on top of his mother, choking her.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they identified the male suspect as Joshua Hostetler, 31. According to the report, Hostetler attempted to batter deputies with a deadly weapon and resisted law enforcement efforts to take him into custody.
Hostetler was ultimately subdued and transported to Plymouth Hospital for medical clearance before being taken to jail.
After receiving jail clearance, Hostetler was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on charges of attempted battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, strangulation, and resisting law enforcement. His bond was set at $10,000 cash.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Police and Plymouth Fire/EMS.
