Sandy Garrison, Director of the Marshall County Museum and Mike Miley, President of the Historical Society presented their quarterly report to the County Commissioners on Monday.
In 2022 the museum had a total of 5,732 visitors last year. That amount included 4,807 from Marshall County, 515 from Indiana, 320 from other states, and 14 visitors from other countries. Looking at a comparison from 2021 the museum had 7,218 visitors. Garrisons said they have had almost 900 visitors so far this year.
Garrison also said the annual volunteer hours for 2022 were 5,532 hours compared to 3,975.5 in 2021. She also thanked the commissioners for the new furnace at the museum and the assistance in painting the train roam.
The Marshall County Museum is currently working on assisting both Plymouth and LaPaz with their upcoming sesquicentennial celebrations.
Mike Miley commented about the “terrific staff” they have at the museum and the always-changing exhibits. He also thanked Ed Langfeldt and his volunteers for assisting with the refurbishing of the train layout including cleaning the tracks and making sure all the switches, buttons, bells, and whistles are working on the train display.
The Marshall County Museum is a destination in downtown Plymouth.
