Lawrence County has a new animal shelter control officer.
The county board Wednesday was formally introduced to Maggie Carter of Bridgeport by personnel committee chairman Tom Robinson.
Carter has already been at work implementing changes and cleaning up at the shelter and plans more improvements in the future.
The board also moved to table updates to the county animal control ordinance to allow for further committee study and review.
They approved the appointment of Scott Weiss to fill a 3 year unexpired term on the Christy Fire Protection District Board.
Other approved appointments were Nick Earnst to the E911 Board to replace Travis Trainer, who stepped down and Peggy Lawson to the 708 board replacing the late Rose Seitzinger.
