Preparations are underway to bring the Lisa Muegge Feast of Plenty to Shelby County for the first time this Thanksgiving.
Local partners are working together to ensure community members have access to a free Thanksgiving meal and food for their pantry following the holiday. Residents may request a meal for home delivery (registration opens Oct. 12). Pickup and carryout meals will also be available to the public at the Boys and Girls Club of Shelbyville between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
In conjunction with the meal, a grocery bag filled with a specific list of shelf-stable items are offered to households. If you would like to donate a bag(s) of groceries, you can find grocery bag details here.
Volunteers will also be needed on the day of the event.
