The effort to improve access for patrons to the Lawrence Public Library will continue in the near future.
The Library Board of Trustees hear an update from Chairman John White on the status of the front entrance project at the facility located at 814 12th Street in downtown Lawrenceville.
The modernization project involves work to both the outside front door and the interior entrance door of the building which will allow those physically handicapped or disabled to automatically open those doors with the push of a button during regular business hours, allowing easy entry.
It is anticipated that the parts to be installed will be in by the end of the month-October 31st. D and H Glass out of Vincennes is ten expected to begin work in early November and be completed two weeks later.
The board had approved the work earlier this year and had been setting funding aside to pay for the project.
