Lawrence County Memorial Hospital (LCMH) in Lawrenceville has announced that it has partnered with Air Evac Lifeteam 150 to provide rapid air medical transport for patients who reside in the county. The municipal medivac contract means that those patients who need advanced critical care while be transported to a specialized medical facility can have those costs absorbed by the hospital itself.

Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amy Hurley told GIANT-FM WAKO News that the patient still has choice regarding air-evac use and there are certain criteria that must be met.

She added that the idea will help to address the need for transportation for medical needs in rural communities and areas such as Lawrence County and southeastern Illinois.
