The Lawrence County Highway Department has announced that the Birds Lane (1800N) from the Chauncey Road (CR220E) west to the Richland County line and Morris Lane (CR1550N) up to the Birds Lane will be temporarily closed on Monday September 15th for oil and chip road work.
Later, the Billett Road (CR700N from Illinois Route 1 west to the Country Club Road (CR1000E) will be temporarily closed also for oil and chip road work. Both roads are expected to be open later in the day, barring weather conditions. Those traveling on the roads can expect loose rock in the repair areas.
