Lawrence County Memorial Hospital (LCMH) proudly marks 75 years of providing high-quality healthcare to Lawrence County and the surrounding region.
LCMH first opened its doors on July 2, 1950, with 45 patient beds and a small, dedicated staff. Over the decades, the hospital has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the community. Today, LCMH employs more than 240 healthcare professionals and support staff, all committed to delivering compassionate care close to home.
“For 75 years, this hospital has been more than just a facility—it’s been a cornerstone of our community,” said Amy Hurley, CEO of Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. “We’re proud of our past, but even more excited about our future.”
Recent years have brought numerous expansions and service additions. In 2022, LCMH introduced Surgical Podiatry and constructed a new Podiatry Clinic, along with launching an Infusion Clinic to better serve outpatient needs. In 2024, the Therapy Department expanded with a state-of-the-art space, and the LCMH Primary Care Clinic welcomed Dr. Jacob Lennert and Pediatrician Dr. Saachin Nangia to the medical staff.
LCMH also partnered with Integritas, a leading emergency medicine group, to enhance emergency care services. Additionally, The Gift Box—LCMH’s volunteer-run hospital gift shop—celebrated its 20th anniversary, recognizing two decades of community support and generosity.
In 2025, the hospital launched Virtual Rheumatology services, offering patients access to specialized care without the need for long-distance travel continuing LCMH’s mission to be the healthcare provider of choice, bringing specialty healthcare services closer to home.
