The Knox County (Ind.) Prosecutors Office has announced that a Bicknell man was sentenced to prison in court this week.
82-year-old Michael Jones had previously plead guilty to a Level 4 Indiana Felony for sexually abusing a 14-year-old female back in the year 2021.
Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan argued during the proceeding that Jones had caused damage and trauma to the victim in the case as well as to her family. He also added that Jones violated the conditions of his bond by stalking the victim and should receive the maximum sentence for justice to be served.
Knox Circuit Court Judge Monica Gilmore heard from both sides and afterward agreed with the prosecution and handed Jones the maximum term allowed under Indiana law which was 12 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
