A Plymouth man was lodged in the Marshall County Jail after leading Plymouth Police on a high-speed chase.
Monday afternoon, May 13th at 3:30 Officer Lovely with the Plymouth Police Department was attempting to detain Joseph Vervynckt in relation to previous calls at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Oak Road. Vervynckt fled the officer in a Buick, westbound on Lincoln Highway.
The police report states that Vervynckt was driving at speeds in excess of 100 mph and swerving in and out of traffic in an attempt to flee. The pursuit came to an end in the 17000 block of Lincoln Highway. Marshall County Sheriff's Deputies and Troopers with the Indiana State Police assisted in the apprehension.
Vervynckt was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for resisting law enforcement as a level 6 felony, resisting law enforcement as a class A misdemeanor, and reckless driving as a class C misdemeanor. Vervynckt is being held on a $5,000 cash bond.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
