State Representative Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2024 legislative session.
As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined Jordan on the House floor to learn about the legislative process.
"The page program is a great opportunity for young Hoosiers to get an understanding of how bills become law," Jordan said. "Meeting with pages from our area is a highlight during the session, and I encourage more local students to page next year."
Area students serving as pages during the 2024 legislative session included Katie Schouten from Rochester, who attends Culver Community High School,
and Kyndra Thayer from Argos, who attends Argos High School.
Students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2025 legislative session. Contact Jordan's Statehouse office at h17@iga.in.gov or 317-232-9600 for more information.
