The Decatur Shelby County YMCA announced the appointment of Rebecca Jones as the new Executive Director for the Shelby County Branch.
Following an extensive statewide search that attracted a pool of highly qualified candidates, the Shelbyville native, was chosen and will begin her role on May 1.
With over 20 years of experience in strategic leadership, staff development, community engagement, and financial management, Rebecca brings a wealth of expertise to her new position. Her career in wellness and recreational sports has equipped her to drive program success, enhance member engagement, and ensure financial sustainability.
“I’m honored to return to my hometown and serve as Executive Director of the Shelby County Branch,” said Rebecca Jones. “The YMCA is integral to communities across the country, and I’m deeply committed to advancing its mission. I look forward to bringing my passion for wellness, youth development, and inclusive programming to life alongside such a dedicated team. This opportunity allows me to combine my experience with a fresh perspective, and I’m excited to create an environment where people feel supported and inspired to thrive.”
Rebecca’s most recent role as Director of the Tennis Center at Indiana University saw her lead large teams, manage operational changes, and build strong community relationships. Her leadership style is defined by a commitment to staff development, innovation, and collaboration.
