At 2:15 Tuesday morning, an irate man in the lobby of 2619 North Michigan Street sent Plymouth Police to the Holiday Inn Express.
When Corporal Schieber arrived on the scene, the suspect, 42-year-old James T. Myers III of Lambertville, MI, was near the main entrance and refused to follow orders. When the officer went to detain him, he resisted and battered the officer.
Myers was taken into custody and transported to the Plymouth Hospital for jail clearance before being housed in the Marshall County Jail.
Initial criminal charges for Myers include a felony battery on a public safety official, misdemeanor resisting law enforcement, and misdemeanor public intoxication.

They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
