The Marshall County Jail released brief information on the death of an inmate.
On Friday, March 15, there was a medical event with an inmate at the Marshall County Jail. The inmate, 54-year-old Bruce VanBlaricom was immediately taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Plymouth and transferred to a hospital in St. Joseph County.
That same evening, at 9:50 the County Jail released VanBlaricom on his own recognizance.
On Wednesday morning, March 20, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained information that Bruce VanBlaricom had passed away in the St. Joseph County hospital.
VanBlaricom was booked into the Marshall County Jail on March 6th for possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance. The home he was living in is located adjacent to Plymouth High School and two other individuals were arrested with him on March 6th.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department wishes to give condolences to the friends and family of Mr. Vanblaricom.
