Just after noon on Thursday, September 4th, a week ago, the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center put out a report of a possible impaired or unsafe driver northbound on U.S. 31 from State Road 10.
The report said a black Ford Explorer or SUV with a ladder on top of it was all over the roadway.
Marshall County Officer Truty located that vehicle and conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. During the investigation, the officer discovered that the driver,

23-year-old Edd D. Kadja, and 20-year-old Nicholas W. Dispain, both of Indianapolis, were in possession of marijuana.

Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. They were held for approximately five hours and released on cash bonds.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
