Troopers from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post were out in force throughout the July 4th holiday weekend as part of a focused traffic detail aimed at keeping motorists safe during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
The detail, conducted on July 3rd and throughout the holiday weekend, was centered on high visibility across the district so that residents and travelers could reach their destinations safely. The results of the effort were as follows:
- 152 warnings issued
- 62 traffic citations issued
- 4 crashes investigated
- 5 criminal cases involving 5 criminal defendants
The Indiana State Police emphasized that a visible presence in the community remains a core part of their mission to keep Indiana's roadways safe for all travelers.
"It has always and will always be the focus of the Indiana State Police to be proactive and present throughout our community so our roadways stay safe for all who travel throughout the State of Indiana," the post stated in its release.
Troopers also extended well wishes to residents celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary of independence, expressing hope that everyone enjoyed a safe and memorable Fourth of July weekend with family and friends.
