McDonald's owner/0perators throughout Indiana, Southwest Michigan and Southeast Illinois will be raising funds Wednesday for 177 local high school athletic programs, including Waldron, Shelbyville and Triton Central high schools.
All day long, 10% of all sales made on the McDonald’s mobile app will be given to local high school athletic programs.
Each locally owned McDonald’s restaurant has chosen a high school in their community to donate 10% of all digital sales on Wednesday.
Each identified high school will receive a minimum of $250.
This year marks the first time Indiana operators are hosting a High School Sports Digital Fundraiser. McDonald’s owner/operators in Ohio were the first to launch this type of fundraiser last year as a way to support high school athletics in the communities they serve.
“This is the first-time owner/operators throughout the state have come together on one day to show our support for athletics in the communities we serve,” said McDonald’s owner Andy Ball. “Our hope is that the local communities will come out to support their high schools and help us make the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day a success throughout the state.”
The McDonald’s app is available for download in the Apple App Store and the Android Google Play Store. With the McDonald’s app, customers get access to exclusive deals, they can order ahead and pass the line with Mobile Order & Pay, plus they can join MyMcDonald’s Rewards to earn points on every order to redeem for free McDonald's. The Shelby County Post is a digital newspaper producing news, sports, obituaries and more without a pay wall or subscription needed.
