The Illinois Eastern Community College (IECC) Board of Trustees is continuing to look at potential upgrades to district-wide facilities in the near future.
One of the financial topics discussed recently during the regular monthly session in October at Olney Central College (OCC) was a proposed capital financing plan involving up to $9.25 million for HVAC replacements, athletic facility improvements and other projects at the four colleges in the system.
District fiscal officials are currently evaluating financing options for the plan that are aimed at minimizing the impact on property taxes for district residents. No bonds or specific construction projects have been approved. The board is expected to revisit the proposal in November with some firm numbers to consider. If things move forward as planned, a possible bond issuance could occur in early 2027.
