Three people were transported to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Oak Road caused by icy road conditions.
Marshall County Central Dispatch received a report of the T-bone style collision at approximately 1:40 p.m. on January 1st, 2026.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department investigation, Katelyn Asher, 27, of Plymouth, was driving a 2013 Chevy Sonic northbound on Oak Road when she was unable to stop on the ice-covered roadway.
Her vehicle slid into the driving lanes of U.S. 6, where it was struck on the passenger side by a 2017 GMC Sierra towing a trailer. The Sierra was driven by Kevin King, 42, of Plymouth, who was traveling on U.S. 6.
Asher and her two juvenile passengers were transported to Bremen Hospital for evaluation. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
The crash highlights the hazardous driving conditions caused by ice-covered roadways. Authorities remind drivers to reduce speed and increase following distance during winter weather.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department investigated the crash with assistance from LaPaz Fire & EMS, Lakeville Police Department, and Reichert-Knepp Towing.
