The dedication ceremony for the 26th Habitat for Humanity of Marshall County home will take place this Saturday, May 18th at 2 P.M.
This newly constructed home is located at 408 East Center Street in Bourbon and is the first home provided by the Town of Bourbon and the fourth home built in the town of Bourbon. Kaycee Wagoner and her daughter will live in this home.
Wagoner and dozens of volunteers have been working two days a week to complete the home. Some of the volunteers this year were from the high school’s building trades program.
Habitat for Humanity builds decent and affordable homes around the world in partnership with families in need of a decent place to live. Habitat homebuyers help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
Habitat houses are modestly sized. They are large enough for the homeowner's family’s needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs affordable.
Habitat for Humanity uses quality, locally available building materials. Habitat home designs reflect the local climate and culture.
While the dedication ceremonies are planned for Saturday, the family won’t be able to move in until the final touches are completed, and an occupancy permit is issued.
