The Grover Center: Museum and Historical Society is hosting the third annual Blast from the Past: Disco Night on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Carl McNeely Civic Center at 945 S. Tompkins St. in Shelbyville.
There will be a live disco DJ and a dazzling light-up dance floor. Dinner, catered by Spegal’s Prime Cuts, includes your choice of boneless chicken breast or lemon butter filet bites, paired with salad, scalloped potatoes, and lemon-zested broccoli.
This family-friendly event is brought to you by Horseshoe Casino Indianapolis and Runnebohm Construction. Tickets can be purchased for $40 at the Grover Center or on their website at www.grovercenter.org.
Doors open for the event at 6 p.m. with the silent auction, 1970’s textile exhibit and a cash bar. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a high-energy disco set from 7 to 9 p.m.
Guests are invited to break out their best 1970s fashion and hit the dance floor for a night of retro fun.
In addition to the music and the food, Disco Night will also feature a silent auction, offering one-of-a-kind items such as a 70s glassware basket, Colts tickets, an original glass block from the former Elks Club building (now home to the Grover Center), local business gift cards, themed baskets from the Charles Davis Mansion and Shelbyville history, vintage game baskets, and much more.
All proceeds go directly to support Grover Center’s mission of preserving and celebrating the rich local history of Shelby County.
