A well-known archeologist who undertook a grave recovery project in Lawrence County recently will be the guest speaker at a special meeting of the Lawrence County Historical Society on Monday, July 14th.
Donn Grenda is a prehistoric and historical archeologist who owns Statistical Research, Inc, a consulting firm with offices throughout the western United States. In 2023, Grenda and his team undertook the recovery of the historical graves of early Lawrence County settlers John Warner, Sr and his second wife Malinda Crews using the most modern techniques and then re-buried the remains at the Centerville Cemetery as per family wishes.
He is expected to talk about that work and other projects during his visit. The program is at 7 p.m. at the History Center located in downtown Lawrenceville and is free and open to the public.
