Governor Mike Braun travelled southwest Indiana meeting with Hoosiers to hear their concerns about property taxes. After a fireside chat with constituents in Terre Haute, where they shared the impact that skyrocketing property taxes have had on them, Governor Braun travelled to Evansville to host a round table discussion with Hoosiers struggling with property tax hikes.
"I want to thank all of the people of Indiana that came to meet with me in Terre Haute and Evansville today to share their stories and express their concerns with soaring property taxes," said Gov. Braun. "As I continue to have these conversations with Hoosiers, I hear more and more about where they have had to make cuts to their budgets just so they can get by. Our state's legislators must do right by Hoosiers and look out for taxpayers by passing my property tax plan."
Governor Braun's Freedom and Opportunity Agenda prioritizes Hoosier taxpayers and puts an emphasis on three aspects of property tax relief: cut property taxes, cap future increases, and reform the system.
