Gov. Braun shares message of more jobs, better wages, and stronger workforce in visits across Indiana

Governor Mike Braun traveled across Indiana last week to highlight job growth, rising wages, workforce readiness, small businesses, and public safety.

“My top priority is affordability, and in addition to lowering prices on essentials like gasoline through our gas tax suspension the most important thing we can do to make life more affordable is facilitate new jobs and higher wages for Hoosiers. Last Thursday, Governor Braun spoke at the RV Industry Power Breakfast in Elkhart County, where he discussed Indiana’s strong business climate, the importance of the RV industry to the state, and his focus on growing jobs and wages for Hoosier workers.

On Wednesday, Governor Braun spoke at the NWI Times Business & Industry Hall of Fame in Merrillville, honoring business leaders whose vision and grit have made a lasting impact on Northwest Indiana and the State of Indiana and highlighting his work to bring new jobs and higher wages to the Region and the state.

Governor Braun also stopped by Fingerhut Bakery in North Judson for breakfast with farmers, small business owners, and local leaders for a community conversation about small-town business, agriculture, and local growth.

At the beginning of last week, Governor Braun visited Ivy Tech Community College’s Valparaiso campus to highlight Indiana’s strong workforce readiness pathways and high-demand training programs preparing students for good-paying careers. The visit included an in‑depth look at hands‑on learning labs in Nursing, Welding, and HVAC & Energy Technology, programs that continue to meet strong employer demand in Northwest Indiana and beyond. These programs give Hoosiers the opportunity to earn industry‑recognized credentials and enter essential fields, often with no student debt. Read more about that visit here.

On Tuesday, Governor Braun visited Monroe County Fire Department Station 25 to recognize National EMS Week and honor Monroe County first responders whose quick action helped save a Hoosier’s life. Indiana has more than 25,000 EMS professionals, who provided emergency medical care more than 3,000 times per day in 2025.

Governor Braun visited Wabash for a meeting with Mayor Scott A. Long. Governor Braun also visited Kokomo last week for a meeting with Mayor Tyler Moore.
