Fulton County Assessor Kasey Lee joins nation’s largest convening of county leaders

Fulton County Assessor Kasey Lee, attended the National Association of Counties (NACo) Annual Conference in Philadelphia, Pa from July 11-14. The nation’s largest meeting of county leaders drew over 3,400 attendees to discuss a wide range of policy issues, exchange best practices.

During the conference Lee was nationally recognized when she was presented with the Best In Category award for Civic Education Public and Information for her Fulton County Assessor's Mobile Office initiative.

“I pride myself in trying to make a difference in my County. This award is not just huge for me, but Fulton County. It’s a first for both us and I am honored to bring it home to Indiana”, Lee said.

The conference also provided attendees with resources to help address key issues, including mental health, housing affordability, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, disaster preparedness, effective governance and operations, federal public lands management, workforce and economic
development, and civic engagement.

“I enjoy being part of a bigger picture as an active committee woman on the Rural and Agricultural Steering Committee and a voting member of the Rural Action Caucus. National Association of Counties Annual Conference has opened the door to resources and education that we can potential implement at the local level,” Lee stated about the impact the conference made to her.

Dozens of sessions featured policy and subject matter experts, private sector and nonprofit thought leaders, and intergovernmental partners. The sessions included four all-day learning forums themed around pressing county issues like local economies, the county workforce, and revenues and fiscal health. The National Association of Counties includes nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees. Founded in 1935, NACo unites county officials to advocate for county government priorities in federal policymaking; promote exemplary county policies and practices, optimize county and taxpayer resources and cost savings; and enrich the public’s understanding of county government.
