The Fulton County America 250 Committee wanted to take a moment to thank the City of Rochester, Town of Akron, Town of Kewanna and various community members for providing a great display of fireworks plus additional fun over the Fourth of July weekend to help citizens celebrate this great moment in history.
The committee welcomes community members to join in on more great moments to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday coming soon.
“The America 250 Fulton County Committee is super passionate about encouraging, highlighting and creating events to celebrate the country’s birthday in a meaningful and fun way for the remainder of the year,” said organizers. “We look forward to continuing to build a celebration that honors our past while inspiring future generations.”
Two local upcoming events are set to happen.
A colonial presentation including reading, music and more will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the Kewanna-Union Township Public Library.
Guests will enjoy songs from the Colonial Period, learn about George Washington and have an opportunity to view historical artifacts.
Community members spotted displaying the Indiana 250 decal on their car will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win two concert tickets for the Times Theater.
The 250 Committee members will enter all license plates of spotted vehicles for a chance to win. A winner will be chosen at the Nickel Plate Music and Art Festival and will have 30 days to retrieve their prize.
Please contact Lori Bean at myshichon@hotmail.com or text (574) 230-3118 to learn where to get the decals and for questions.
