Units of the Lawrence-Allison Fire Protection District, along with other agencies responded Tuesday night to a structure fire in Lawrenceville.
Firefighters were dispatched to a small fire on the second floor of the old Lawrenceville High School property located at 503 Eighth Street. The fire was brought under control and extinguished quickly. No cause has been given. The old structure had been previously damaged by fire in 2017.
The city of Lawrenceville is currently moving forward toward acquisition of the property through an agreement with the previous owner. They plan to demolish the building and construct a new wastewater treatment facility there.
