Gibboney will welcome back students, faculty and staff to a district that underwent a major overhaul this summer.
When buses and cars pull up Monday morning at schools within the Greencastle school corporation, superintendent Jeff Gibboney admits his excitement will be great.
"It is the most exciting part of the school year. Staff has done a great job preparing our buildings and the kids are so excited. They are happy to see their friends and teachers from last year and the upcoming year. I think it is going to be a great year. We are going to improve on everything each day. My message to our staff is we will meet our kids where they are at and we want them to improve every day. It is a marathon, not a sprint," Gibboney said.
Gibboney will welcome back students, faculty and staff to a district that underwent a major overhaul this summer as a multi-million dollar construction project has changed the landscape, especially at Greencastle High School.
"The construction project touched each one of our schools. There was an emphasis on safety and security. Each school has a safe entrance where people are buzzed into the office. We are here for teaching and learning first and foremost. The fact that we could touch every classroom was critical and important. Our teachers need to feel like they are a priority, and I feel like we helped provide that and support them with an upgraded classroom experience. They are much more vibrant, brighter and we are very proud of that," Gibboney said.
