Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles and a medical helicopter in the area of the Greenfield City Pool and Hancock County Fairgrounds on Thursday.
The Greenfield Fire Territory, City of Greenfield Pool Staff/Lifeguards, Hancock County 911 Dispatch, Ascension Health PHI Air Medical, and Ascension Health Physicians will be participating in a multi-agency drowning response training exercise.
Training will take place between approximately 9:30 - 12:00 p.m.
This is only a training exercise. There is no emergency or danger to the public. The purpose of the training is to improve coordination, communication, and emergency response capabilities between agencies in the event of a real-life water rescue emergency involving a pediatric patient.
Residents may see multiple emergency vehicles, fire apparatus, personnel operating around the pool area and a medical helicopter landing at the fairgrounds
