A total of 11 contestants will via for the title Miss Putnam County Fair Queen on Saturday, July 11.
The pageant will take place at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building at 7 p.m. as the contestants will look to fill the sash and crown worn by 2025 Queen Madison Stahl for the last year. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the fee is $5 to attend. Those 6 years of age and younger are free.
The contestants are as follows: Leah Friend, Addi Cox, Morgan Berry, Danica Overshiner, Adelia Thomas, Emma Woodall, Elizabeth Overbay, Samantha Overbay, Averi Brewer, Chloe Inman and Brookley Oliver.
Friend is a 2025 graduate of North Putnam High School, who will attend Ivy Tech Community College to major in elementary education.
Cox is a 2026 graduate of North Putnam High School and is employed by The Waters of Greencastle as a CNA and after finishing cosmetology school, she plans to pursue a career as a hairstylist. Berry is a 2026 graduate of North Putnam High School and will complete prerequisite classes through Ivy Tech before transferring to Purdue. Overshiner is a 2026 graduate of Greencastle High School and is continuing her education at Vincennes, majoring in agribusiness. Thomas is a 2025 graduate of North Putnam High School and will attend Manchester University, majoring in criminology with plans to switch to pre-law. Woodall is a 2025 graduate of South Putnam High School and will continue her education at Oklahoma State University, majoring in general animal science with a minor in agriculture real estate appraisal. Elizabeth Overby is a 2026 graduate of Athens Virtual Academy and plans to start a small business as a professional photographer. Samantha Overby is a 2025 graduate of Greencastle High School, who will attend Purdue and pursue a degree in nursing. Brewer is a 2025 graduate of North Putnam High School and plans to continue building her skills as a cosmetologist. Inman is a 2025 graduate of Cloverdale High School and will attend Huntington University to study agriculture education. Oliver is a 2025 graduate of North Putnam High School and will return to Ivy Tech to pursue a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
The Putnam County 4-H Fair is schedule for July 17 through 24 at the fairgrounds.
