Duncan Cherry is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2026 legislative session, said State Sen. Michael Crider (R-Greenfield).
Cherry, a resident of Greenfield, is the son of Jeff and Amy Cherry. Cherry graduated from Eastern Hancock High School and is a graduate of Indiana University East, with degrees in history and political science.
"This internship is a great opportunity for young adults to gain real-world professional experience," Crider said. "It's a great feeling to see college-age kids take an interest in state politics and really care about how it affects their daily lives."
As a legislative intern, Cherry tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to intern and gain valuable experience while learning about the legislative process and assisting the senators throughout session," Cherry said.
Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to conclude by the end of February.
