Toyota Boshoku Illinois (TBIL) in Lawrence County is planning to host an "E-Waste" collection day in May open to Lawrence County residents only in an effort to help the local environment.
Company officials have released some preliminary information on the effort. It will be on Saturday, May 2nd from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the TBIL front office area at their production facility located east of Lawrenceville.
Items to be collected include scrap electronics such as flat screen TVs (no CRT TVs), computers, phones, laptops, printers, keyboards, gaming consoles, tablets, DVD/CD players etc. Double/triple A, C, D ,9V, Lithium and any small batteries that are not lead-acid based will also be accepted for collection. Battery terminals should be taped.
