Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrested two individuals for driving without a license.
Officer Geiger stopped a 2013 Ford Escape on U.S. 31 north of U.S. 30 for a speeding infraction on April 12 just before 1 p.m.
The driver, Domingo Escobar of Grand Rapids, Michigan, had never obtained a license to drive. Mr. Escobar was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail. He was held on a $100 cash bond, and his vehicle was impounded by Lyon Wrecker Service.

On April 17, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Deputy Williams stopped a vehicle on U.S. 30 near U.S. 31 for speeding.
The driver, 18-year-old Adolfo Cortez-Managa, was found to have never been issued a driver's license. He was taken into custody, lodged in the Marshall County Jail for operating without obtaining a license, and held on a $100 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
