A woman from Madison Wisconsin was injured in a freak accident Friday night on U.S. near 1C Road.
36-year-old Hannah Stieglitz of Wisconsin was traveling on U.S. 6 in her 2022 BWM when she told Deputy Geiger the vehicle was “grabbed” and thrown to the side of the road after rolling over.
During his investigation it was found that a recent storm had taken down a tree with power lines, causing a cable from another pole to lay across U.S. 6. The BMW drove over the cable, and it got caught in the wheel of the vehicle causing the accident.
Ms. Stieglitz was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for injuries sustained in the accident.
