It was a packed house at the Fulton County 4H Fairgrounds Community Building Monday, March 2, for the Fulton County Commissioners meeting.
With around nearly 200 people at the meeting, most of the attendees came over the fears of a potential data center being placed in Akron. Residents have been faithfully attending county meetings since the rumors about plans for a 500MW data center first began in January.

Fears were put on hold after Fulton County Commissioners voted two-to-one to approve a one-year moratorium for future data center projects, putting a temporary pause on new data center developments in the county.
The one-year bans will give officials more time to evaluate the environmental and infrastructure impacts of rapid data center development.
