A traffic stop by county police on Dec. 18 resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old man from South Bend on possession charges with a prior and OWI with a prior.
At approximately 4 p.m. Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy Bennett conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 2000 block of North Michigan Street in Plymouth. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 37-year-old Ricardo Rubio of South Bend.
During the traffic stop, suspected drugs were located inside the vehicle. Suspected drugs were also located on one of the passengers, who was identified as 29-year-old Autumn Graves.
Rubio was suspected of being under the influence of drugs and was transported to the Plymouth Hospital for a chemical test and Graves was released from the traffic stop.
Rubio was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction as a level 6 felony, possession of marijuana with a prior drug offense conviction as a class A misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia as a class C misdemeanor. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department assisted county deputies at the scene.
