Plymouth High School’s “Easy Breezy” and Lincoln Junior High’s “Zingbots” robotics teams are heading to the VEX World Robotics Competition in Dallas, Texas, next month.
The competition is an excellent experience for students. It allows them to compete against teams from all over the world and collaborate with these teams, building interpersonal and communication skills.
This learning experience involves a significant financial investment. The registration fees for the competition are $1,800 per team, and there are additional costs for travel, hotel, food, and more. It is up to the teams to raise the necessary funds to compete and travel.
The teams are collaborating on a Wednesday night fundraiser at Lincoln Junior High. They are hosting a Community Night in the cafeteria from 5:30 to 7:30. Food trucks will be in the parking lot for your dinner, and students will have robots on display. Donations will be accepted to help with costs.
If you can’t attend the Community Night but would like to invest in these future engineers, builders, architects, and designers, send a check to Plymouth High School, care of Plymouth Robotics at #1 Big Red Drive. Please note World Competition in the memo line. You can also donate online here.
