Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel appeared before the County Commissioners this week with the Lake Enforcement Grant Agreement with the Department of Natural Resources. Funds from this grant provide lake patrol on Lake Maxinkuckee.
Sheriff Hassel told the commissioners his department has been providing the lake patrol services for many years. The $15,000 grant from the DNR assists in funding the patrols but additional funds are needed. The Lake Maxinkuckee Lake Association provided the remaining funds needed. The total cost of the lake patrol for 2023 was $37,626.40
There is no taxpayer money involved in providing this service.
The commissioners unanimously approved the grant agreement with the DNR.
