Beginning on or after Monday, August 26, crews will implement a full closure on State Road 63 under U.S. 136.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a temporary full closure and alternating single-lane closures on State Road 63 in Warren and Vermillion Counties, located just southwest of Covington.
Beginning on or after Monday, August 26, crews will implement a full closure on State Road 63 under U.S. 136. During the closure, traffic will use the on/off ramps for U.S. 136 as a detour. Individual alternating lane closures will also begin at this time on S.R. 63 between County Road 1550 N (Vermillion County) and Sycamore Lane, which is located just north of I-74.
During the closures, crews will be replacing pavement in the area, installing a temporary crossover near I-74 for future work, and replacing pipes. Work is expected to last until late November under U.S. 136. Work between C.R. 1550 N and Sycamore Lane is expected to last until the end of 2024 and begin again in 2025.
INDOT encourages all drivers to use the U.S. 136 ramps to get around the northernmost closure, and to use caution around these and all work zones.
