Last week, Plymouth’s Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt opened fuel bids during the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.
Marquardt said he contracts annually for 40,500 gallons of gasoline and 22,500 gallons of diesel fuel.
Only one bid was received, from Keystone Cooperative, which supplies CountryMark Fuel.
The base bid for gasoline was $2.3980 and with the taxes, the city must pay the bid to $2.760 per gallon. Marquardt commented that it was cheaper than the 2024 locked-in pricing. The base bid for diesel fuel was $2.4370 a gallon and with the taxes the per gallon price for the city came up to $3.044 which Marquardt said was a little cheaper than 2024.
The Street Superintendent was given approval to work with Keystone to lock in the rate for gasoline and diesel for 2025.
