In two separate incidents, Plymouth Police Officers arrested two individuals on Saturday, May 4th for driving while suspended.
At approximately 1:20 Saturday morning, Corporal Schieber initiated a traffic stop on North Street near Center Street for a vehicle with a registration that had been expired for approximately 1 year. The officer identified the driver of the vehicle as Jonathan Harrison, 37 years old of North Center Street in Plymouth.
The officer was able to determine that Harrison had a driver’s license status of suspended-prior, which is a misdemeanor offense. He was taken into custody before being transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $500 cash bond. Jonathan Harrison was released with no judicial review at 1:30 Monday morning.
The second incident happened at about 7:45 Saturday evening at Western and Council Drive.
Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding.
During the traffic stop investigation, it was determined that the driver, Katherine Hernandez, 18, of West Washington Street in Plymouth was driving on a driver's license that was suspended prior.
Hernandez was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail. Hernandez was booked for driving while suspended prior and given a $500 cash bond. Her bond was paid at 9:30 Sunday morning and she was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
