Plymouth City Engineer Dan Sellers told the Board of Public Works and Safety that the city submitted their application for the 2026 Community Crossing Matching Grant (CCMG) last week.
The deadline for grant funding for next year is the end of October.
The finalized list of projects includes the city’s top priority project, Harrison Street. This project involves creating a sidewalk trail from Oak Drive to Plum Street, leading to the Conservation Club House. Sellers said the cost estimate for this project is $1.2 million.
Other projects are street paving projects, including:
- Kenwood Avenue from Lake Avenue/State Road 17 to Sycamore Street
- Sycamore Street from Lake Avenue to Seventh Street
- Center Street from Novelty Street to Parkview Street
- Adams Street from Plum Street to Michigan Street
- Madison Street from Fifth Street to the railroad crossing at Broadway Street
- Nutmeg Road from Discovery Lane to Oakhill Avenue
Sellers said the city is applying for the maximum amount of $1 million. He said the total for all the projects together is a little over $2 million.
Sellers reiterated that the Harrison Street Sidewalk trail project is the city’s top priority at a little over $1.2 million.
