The Lawrenceville City Council made moves to enhance the downtown business district with the granting of two liquor licenses to two new locations.
They granted a Class D license to a new restaurant-sports bar inside the new Hoke's Endless Possibilities building located at 1006 State Street and granted a Class J event license to the new Copper Courtyard and Event venue located at 715 12th Street in Lawrenceville.
Also approved was the purchase of a new police SUV for approximately $61,000 from the state of Illinois to add to the current fleet of department vehicles.
An audit was approved in regard to the city's current employee time reporting system by Kemper CPA to examine the practice and to see if they can make any recommendations regarding improving it in the future.
The council will meet in a special session Monday at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will deal with the proposed city employee return to work policy. Council members needed more time to study and review the legislation before making a vote.
