Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt asked members of the Board of Public Works and Safety for permission to purchase a section of platform scaffolding to be used at the old Firehouse.
Marquardt said he was approached a couple of weeks ago by Mayor Listenberger with concerns about bricks falling off the exterior of the building. He said the pre-school leasing the facility uses the north side door to bring children in and out during the classes. They mayor had some concerns that a brick face could break off and fall, injuring a child, parent, or teacher.
Marquart got online to look for a temporary solution and found Solid Platforms. The scaffolding has a solid platform on top that could hold any falling bricks. The cost was $870. The Board of Public Works and Safety approved the purchase of the scaffolding and asked Marquardt to install it as soon as possible.
The platform was purchased and installed late last week.
