Plymouth EMA and Police were dispatched to the Economy Inn on Friday, March 7th at about 12:20 p.m. for a female not breathing.
The caller said CPR was in progress. Before emergency responders arrived on the scene, the caller stated that she was breathing.
When city officers arrived to begin an investigation there were several items in plain view commonly associated with the use of narcotics.
Once the female was removed to the ambulance, Officer Enyart spoke with 43-year-old Christopher Yates. During this time, several used and loaded syringes were located within the open area along with baggies and other paraphernalia.
Yates was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a scheduled drug and possession of syringes. He was held on a $1500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
