A Cass County man is was arrested on child molest charges after an investigation that began just before Christmas.
On December 22, 2025, Detective Wendell Beachy from the Indiana State Police Peru District initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information that Jacob M. Torres, 33, of Logansport, had allegedly molested a child.
Detective Beachy conducted the investigation and submitted the findings to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office. After reviewing the investigation, the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office filed criminal charges against Mr. Torres, and an arrest warrant was issued.
On Sunday, shortly after 8:30 p.m., Torres turned himself in at the Cass County Jail, where he currently is being held.
Torres faces two counts of child molesting, Level 1 and Level 4 felonies.
