A Vermillion County man at the center of a police investigation dating back to 2024 has found himself behind bars after allegedly committing crimes against children.
According to the Indiana State Police, ISP began investigating Carthell D. Jeys Jr., 40, Cayuga, last October after receiving information that a female child under the age of 14, had been inappropriately touched by an adult male.
Officers discovered Jeys Jr. allegedly committed sexual misconduct with a female child in Vermillion County and was in possession of child pornography.
After obtaining an arrest warrant, Jeys Jr. was arrested Tuesday night by the Indiana State Police Central SWAT Team without incident. Jeys Jr. is currently being held in the Vermillion County Jail without bond. He has been charged with two Level 4 counts of child molesting - fondling or tou hint and 10 counts of Level 5 felony possession of child pornography.
