This is the final week of operation for the Bridgeport Senior Citizens Center located at 135 East Olive Street in Bridgeport, Illinois.
It has been announced by local senior citizens officials that the location will close permanently after services provided on Thursday, January 15th, 2025. There will still be meal deliveries to homebound seniors residing in Bridgeport.
The Lawrenceville and St Francisville senior citizens locations are still open for services and meals. Both are closed on Tuesday and the weekends. Dwindling attendance, increased costs and a reduction in federal funding are among the reasons for the Bridgeport closing
